The Rowan Studio

Privacy

The short version: our apps keep everything on your device, and this website collects nothing beyond what you choose to send us. There is no analytics script on this page counting you, no advertising, and no data broker anywhere in the story.

Four Thousand Weeks (iOS app)

Everything you put into Four Thousand Weeks stays on your iPhone. Your name, your birthday, your birthplace, and every line you write are stored locally, in Apple's on-device database. None of it is sent to us. There is nothing to send it to: the app has no server, no account system, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs.

We collect no data. We cannot read what you write. If you delete the app, its data goes with it.

Two optional actions share data only when you choose them, in the moment: saving a share card writes one image to your photo library (the app never reads your photos), and sending a card to another app, such as your journal or a story, hands that single image to the app you picked, under that app's own policies.

If iCloud sync arrives later

A future version may offer sync through your own private iCloud database, so your grid can follow you across devices. That data is encrypted to your Apple account. We cannot access it, and the answer above does not change.

This website

therowan.studio runs no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. If you subscribe to the journal or send us a message, the email address and message you type are delivered to us by Formspree, our form processor, and used only to reply to you or to send the journal you asked for. Unsubscribing is one click, always. The journal itself is published on Substack, which applies its own terms to readers there.
